Baidehi Sengupta is a linguist, teacher and researcher of language education. She has completed her PhD degree from Jadavpur University and is currently working with Fair Wear Foundation. Baidehi has been a Wipro Foundation Seeding Fellow and a participant of Bookworm’s Library Course under the capacity building programmes of Wipro Foundation.
Baidehi loves to engage in the children's library programme in designing interventions and developing modules for library activities with special focus on enabling language development. Besides curating collections based on children’s needs, she also translates stories in Bengali.
 
				 
				Currently, Sutapa has been teaching in school for more than one and a half decades. Alongside her teaching career, she has been tirelessly working on women’s rights and their empowerment.
She provides self-defense training to women in villages so that they do not fall victim to domestic and social violence. She has also formed women’s groups in various underprivileged districts of West Bengal. In addition, under her leadership, an initiative named “Jonaki” has been launched, where women produce handmade, eco-friendly products and sell them in the market to achieve economic self-reliance.
